Fragile Parcel Delivery & Packing

Fragile stickers do not protect a parcel. The packaging structure, cushioning and courier acceptance rules matter far more.

Practical local support

Understand the job before choosing the service.

Courier networks use automated sortation, cages, belts and vehicle loading. A parcel marked “fragile” should still be packed to tolerate normal handling.

Protection starts with a strong outer box, controlled movement inside the carton and adequate cushioning around vulnerable surfaces and corners.

Some fragile categories are accepted for carriage but excluded from compensation, so customers should distinguish between “the courier will carry it” and “the courier will compensate it if damaged”.

What Megway can help with

More than a basic parcel transaction.

01

Strong outer box

Use a carton appropriate to the item’s weight and shape.

02

Internal clearance

Keep fragile surfaces away from the outer walls with cushioning.

03

Movement control

Nothing should rattle or shift significantly when the box moves.

04

Double boxing

Can help for delicate or high-risk items where appropriate.

05

Carrier exclusions

Glass, ceramics, artwork and electronics can have compensation restrictions.

06

Photographic record

Photos before sealing can help document packing condition.

Process

Prepare it properly

Important to know

Professional packing reduces risk but cannot make a prohibited item acceptable or override a courier’s compensation exclusions.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring the items to Megway before they are packed?

At participating locations, yes. Professional packing can be combined with the shipment where suitable.

Can Megway tell me which courier is best?

The local team can compare suitable services based on route, parcel data, urgency and the couriers enabled at that location.

Will customs always charge me?

Not necessarily. Customs treatment depends on destination rules, goods, value, origin and purpose. Megway should not promise a generic outcome.

Can I send several packages together?

Potentially. Package-level size, weight and labelling still apply, and multi-piece support depends on the selected service.
